Wasiu Lasisi is an accredited social worker who holds a masters degree in social work. Wasiu has vast experience in the mental health sector, working as a community rehabilitation worker, social worker, suicide prevention coordinator, and counsellor across governmental and non-governmental organisations, utilising a number of focused psychosocial interventions, comprehensive assessments, advocacy, and case management to help people with mental illness participate in the community and achieve their life goals. Wasiu has undertaken training in Rogerian counselling, cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy to assist individuals in their development and recovery. Wasiu is currently working at Hyson Green, a specialised inpatient mental health facility, providing supportive counselling, ensuring a smooth transition back home after admission for patients, and facilitating psychoeducational groups. He values helping people in their life journey to foster recovery, healing, and life achievements.
