Elizabeth Hanley is a Clinical Psychologist who started her psychology training at University of New England and then Southern Cross University before continuing on to complete a Masters of Clinical Psychology at Canberra University in ACT. She has training and experience in a wide range of established therapies, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and solution focused brief therapy (SFBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT).
Elizabeth has received clinical training in the provision of therapy to a range of populations including children, adolescents and adults. Liz has experience treating a wide range of disorders including anxiety, trauma and mood disorders. In addition to clinical practice, Elizabeth has experience working in the Education and Training Directorate within schools in the ACT and is a member of the DBT Canberra group.
Elizabeth has been a member of the DBT Canberra group since 2017. She has completed the traineeship which included her being a group facilitator for a complete round of skills training. As well as her DBT traineeship Elizabeth has completed online DBT training through Behavioral Tech (Marsha Linehan) and workshops with Australian DBT Institute. A combination of the traineeship and other training has provided Elizabeth with the experience required to begin as an individual DBT
therapist for the group. Elizabeth currently is focusing on providing individual therapy for individuals completing the DBT program.
